Warming up for winter

I don't know about where you live, but in the mountains of East Tennessee we haven't had much of a winter yet! Temps have been fluctuating between 30 and 75 degrees lately (mostly 75!) While most of us are enjoying the heat wave, winter is coming!

Many of us are thinking "How can I wear all my cute fall dresses once the temperature drops?" And we all know that pantyhose went out in the 90's, right?! ;) (THANK GOODNESS) My favorite way to warm up this style is by doing some layering! Tights, thick socks, tall boots-all look super cute with dresses (or even thick knit shorts!) and do double duty by keeping you comfortable in frigid temperatures.

I've paired this oh-so-soft sweater dress from Red Dress Boutique with some opaque tights and over the knee socks. (If you're ever looking for an amazing online boutique with great customer service, check out Red Dress. They have the cutest clothes and accessories for girls on a budget! Their storefront is in Athens, GA).

You can't go wrong with one of my favorite cold-weather accessories, the infinity scarf. Add a touch of plaid to a solid dress for some variety.

The boots pictured are my newest favorites, and they are on MAJOR sale right now at Nordstrom! They are suede and will last forever. They don't go quite as high up the leg as my Steve Madden's (see previous posts) and they have a chunkier heel perfect for trekking longer distances.

Also on sale are these awesome ear crawler earrings by Lucky Brand. I found these at Belk and they are so unique! Another favorite is this pair, here. Wear these when you want something a little trendier than basic studs.

Christmas is in 4 days and I am so excited! I hope you ALL have a wonderful holiday full of memories with friends and family. Thank you so much for supporting my blog in its startup phase. I have big plans in 2016 for the blog and can't wait to share them with you!

**SALE ALERT(S): Check most online retailers before Christmas!! There are too many great sales to list. Everyone is advertising those last minute gifts, which means you can usually get fantastic deals!
