Simply Casual

Express long open cardigan  // The Limited 'perfect tee' in white  // Express One Eleven mid rise dark wash jean legging // Stella & Dot rebel pendant  // Stella & Dot studs (discontinued), similar studs by Rachel Zoe here // Jessica Simpson booties, similar here  and here

You know those days where you have a MILLION things to do? Grocery shopping, dropping off dry cleaning, heading to Lowe's, picking up the kids, etc.? Usually my go-to outfit for a day like that includes yoga pants (side note: have you ever seen the comedian Tim Hawkins and his 'yoga pants' song? If not, click HERE right now) and a hoodie. But sometimes I want to look a little more put together! This is the perfect outfit that let's you feel a bit more dressed up but still totally comfortable.

If you don't have some plain basic tees in your closet, I highly recommend getting a few in neutral colors to pair with cardigans or under vests. I love the Perfect tees from The Limited! So many colors and they are thicker than the usual t-shirt. I also love this one from Nordstrom. It also comes in several colors and it has a slight high-lo hem that pairs well with leggings.

Long, open cardigans keep you warm on a chilly day and also look so chic. Express had some great options this season for long and short versions of this sweater. Bonus: when you walk in this sweater, it flows behind you like a cape! Added drama for the fashion win ;)

A good pair of jeggings will help you feel like you're wearing your favorite yoga pants. These from Express have just the right amount of stretch! I like to roll mine at the ankles so they hit just above the boot cuff.

Keep accessories simple to stay in the low-key category. I love my Stella & Dot studs, but the Rachel Zoe ones linked above are reversible!
And finally, add a comfortable pair of ankle boots that will keep your feet happy throughout the day of errands. They instantly dress up an outfit and give you some height.

Transition style for early fall

H&M knit dress // Steve Madden over the knee boots // Old Navy wool fedora, similar here and here // Target leaf earrings, similar here

It's that time of year we LOVE- a cool breeze, changing leaves, the PSL's return! But also the most annoying. You may be bundled up when you leave the house in the morning, but by mid-afternoon you are sweating! That's where some nice transition pieces come into play from your wardrobe. Transition pieces are items you can wear when the weather can't make up its mind. Think lots of layering, dresses with boots, fun vests and jackets.

I LOVE this dress from H&M. (And it's only $17.95!!) So comfy! They have a ton of these knit dresses in different patterns and colors. This particular one comes in three different colors. You can dress it down with some sneakers, like Converse chucks, or dress it up! One way I like to dress up this piece is with a great pair of over-the-knee boots.

Don't be shy, ladies! Over-the-knee boots aren't as intimidating as they seem! This pair is an almost exact dupe for Stuart Weitzman's Highland boots (although not as tight to the leg). Oh and less than $150! The latest rule for these beauties is to treat them like tights. Wear them with your mini skirts and dresses (or even your midi skirts!) Since this pair I am wearing is a bit looser around the leg, they also look good with a cute poncho and skinny jeans or leggings. (You may see a post later on with some more suggestions for OTK boots).

I kept the accessories simple with this look. A great felt hat is wonderful for fall. Having a crazy hair day? Throw one of these on for a polished look! I like the felt hats from Old Navy in particular because I have a HUGE slightly larger head and they have L/XL sizes (as opposed to a one size fits all). I linked a couple different options, but there are TONS of great felt fedoras in all colors at many different stores.

**SALE ALERT! Shop Sosie, one of my favorite online boutiques, its having 30% off their dresses right now! Really cute shifts and rompers. Click here and use the code GETDRESSY**

Until next time <3

Fall and Flares

Similar Free People tunics here and here! (Mine is from 2014 Fall collection) // Free People Pull on Kick Flares // Express pendant necklace // Forever 21 fur vest, similar here and here // Similar Jessica Simpson ankle boots (in leather

One of my favorite styles for fall is the "boho" look! Talk about comfortable!! I don't know about you, but I am really excited that flare jeans are back in style. I love my skinnies, but flare jeans are so flattering on ANY body type! These Free People ones are my favorite because they come in 4 different inseams (short, regular, long, and EXTRA long) and they are pull-on! Yes, pull-on! Think pajama jeans! They're amazing. If you are going to buy only one pair of flares- this would be the pair to invest in this season. You can thank me later.

Most of the time I pair my flares with a form-fitting shirt, but if you stick to a flow-y tunic in a thinner fabric, that can work too. Free People has so many comfy tunics and tees that I LIVE in (catch them on sale!)

If you're wearing a tunic, long pendant necklaces work perfect. My favorite one is the Rebel from Stella and Dot, but this Express version above is very similar (and more affordable).

I dressed up my tunic and necklace with a faux fur vest. So cute, and keeps you WARM. A neutral colored vest is best since it pairs with most anything.

You can't go wrong with a good pair of ankle boots for fall! They are cute under flares and also with skinnies that have the ankles rolled.

***SALE ALERT: Tory Burch is having a MAJOR private sale event, going on until Monday Oct 26th! I'm crushing on these gladiator wedges for spring. (Remember- read the reviews for fit info, as all items in the private sale are final sale!)***

Hope everyone has fun fall plans this weekend! Hubs and I are heading to a Halloween party...dressed as Kaitlyn the Bachelorette and one of her men. (I'm practicing my loud laugh already!) Happy Fall, y'all!
