H&M knit dress // Steve Madden over the knee boots // Old Navy wool fedora, similar here and here // Target leaf earrings, similar here
It's that time of year we LOVE- a cool breeze, changing leaves, the PSL's return! But also the most annoying. You may be bundled up when you leave the house in the morning, but by mid-afternoon you are sweating! That's where some nice transition pieces come into play from your wardrobe. Transition pieces are items you can wear when the weather can't make up its mind. Think lots of layering, dresses with boots, fun vests and jackets.
I LOVE this dress from H&M. (And it's only $17.95!!) So comfy! They have a ton of these knit dresses in different patterns and colors. This particular one comes in three different colors. You can dress it down with some sneakers, like Converse chucks, or dress it up! One way I like to dress up this piece is with a great pair of over-the-knee boots.
Don't be shy, ladies! Over-the-knee boots aren't as intimidating as they seem! This pair is an almost exact dupe for Stuart Weitzman's Highland boots (although not as tight to the leg). Oh and less than $150! The latest rule for these beauties is to treat them like tights. Wear them with your mini skirts and dresses (or even your midi skirts!) Since this pair I am wearing is a bit looser around the leg, they also look good with a cute poncho and skinny jeans or leggings. (You may see a post later on with some more suggestions for OTK boots).
I kept the accessories simple with this look. A great felt hat is wonderful for fall. Having a crazy hair day? Throw one of these on for a polished look! I like the felt hats from Old Navy in particular because I have a HUGE slightly larger head and they have L/XL sizes (as opposed to a one size fits all). I linked a couple different options, but there are TONS of great felt fedoras in all colors at many different stores.
