Crisp air = Scarf weather

This morning, I checked the weather and the temp was in the 40's! 40's!!! I was so excited, I knew I had to break out my scarf collection. The hubs and I went out for breakfast and so we took some pics near this incredibly-ALL-FALL display in the cute downtown where we live.

One of my favorite new colors for fall is rust. I found this rust-colored swing top from Free People. If you like basic solid color tops, try and find some with interesting details. This one has cool cut-outs in the back!  Not to mention, its so comfortable.

Confession: I have WAY too many pairs of over-the-knee boot. These are some of my favorite ones, because they fit really well over jeans. They're also a dupe for a pricier designer Stuart Weitzman pair and under $150!

You can never go wrong with a warm blanket scarf! This one is an infinity version I got in one of my Stitch Fix boxes last year. I will link some of my favorites that are similar. Add these to tunic tops and jeans for the perfect touch of warmth!

Also another favorite thing about fall....hats! This one is from Old Navy- I love that they actually have sizes for their hats (my head is gigantic and its hard to fit into the one-size-fits-all category..haha!) Look for felt fedoras or floppy hats in different warm fall colors. They are cute, and an easy way to hide hair that has been dry shampooed one too many times ;)

Comment and let me know some of your favorite fall outfit pieces and accessories! I love to hear your ideas and can't wait to share more of mine! Click the links below for outfit details!

It's FINALLY fall!

Today was an AMAZING day, for two reasons: First, it was National Coffee Day (ie. National Take-a-picture-with-your-coffee Day). So many places offering discounted/FREE coffee! Where would we be as productive adults without caffeine? :)
Second, while it may have been the first day of Fall last Friday, today was the first day it really FELT like fall here in East TN. High of 69?! Yes, please! I couldn't pass up a chance to break out these gorgeous over the knee boots and comfy off the shoulder sweater!

The over the knee trend is back this season, and I am so happy. I own three pairs now because they are such a great way to dress up an outfit! Pair them with faux leather leggings like I did here, or with a cute fall dress when the weather is still warm enough to show a little skin!

This off the shoulder chunky knit sweater is by one of my favorite brands, Free People. I can't get enough of their hippie-chic items! This particular one (in a gorgeous fall wine color) can be dressed up or down, depending on your mood. It also comes in several colors! I'll link everything in this post below.

My jewelry comes from my new RocksBox I just received in the mail a couple days ago! If you don't know what Rocksbox is, its a subscription service for $19/month that gets you UNLIMITED 3 piece jewelry collections! Wear them, keep one piece (or all!) at a discounted price, or return them to get 3 more pieces as many times as you would like! Their stylists are amazing and they really know how to tailor each collection to your own personal style.
These Kendra Scott earrings are so gorgeous, I will definitely have to purchase them!

It's all in the details

Top from a Franklin, TN boutique, similar green top here // white skinnies // bracelet set (2), Old Navy- sold only in stores, similar here // wedges // Stella & Dot drop earrings, similar SD earrings here
This outfit may be one of my very favorite summer ensembles from my photo shoot in Chattanooga a few months ago! And how gorgeous is the backdrop? My photographer for the shoot (who also happens to be my wedding photographer :) ) found this driveway near her house. Amazing!
One reason I LOVE this outfit, is the amazing green color of the top. You guys know I love everything off the shoulder, but the color.... a beautiful bonus! Choosing one standout piece for an otherwise neutral outfit will really turn heads. I have never owned a bright green top, and it really adds some variety to my closet!
Old Navy for the win- these are their famous Rockstar skinnies and they fit like a dream! I have an extremely long inseam, so they are more like crops on me..but that's ok. I have yet to find a pair of white jeans that fit as great as these. White jeans are risky (hello, red wine!) but they look great paired with a colored top and will transition well into fall. Think white skinnies with a light sweater or plaid shirt!
My bracelets are also from Old Navy. I stacked two sets for more of an arm party! They only sell these in-store, but I linked a similar set above from Baublebar. I have never been a bracelet girl until this season. I love how stacking them makes a statement and can really add to an outfit.
Don't forget some unique shoes to add to this detailed look! These Jeffrey Campbell wedges have amazing cut outs and are so comfortable...seriously! A neutral shoe looks edgier when it has some interesting details (laces, cut outs, zipper/buckle details, etc).
Add some drop earrings, and you're good to go! Adding detailed pieces like jewelry or new shoes can also refresh outfits you've had for awhile in your closet. Next time you want to dress up a tee, add some fringe earrings or an on-trend choker necklace. This fall, add some over the knee boots to your skinnies and plaid.
Have fun accessorizing! XoXo

Sweetest Stitch

tee // culottes // TOMS clogs
I am SO excited to introduce a new online boutique that I have discovered- The Sweetest Stitch. The internet is FULL of online boutiques, and many of those carry the exact same pieces as the next one. When Style Collective announced our partnership with Sweetest Stitch, I was immediately excited to work with them!
I am so impressed with the selection of unique items they carry. This sporty tee is amazingly comfortable and such a unique color. I chose to pair it with some denim culottes and 70's inspired retro clogs for a vintage feel. This tee is so versatile- it would look just as great with some denim cutoffs and my favorite chuck taylors!
These culottes are from Express; I will admit it was a stretch for me to rock a pair of these. Confidence is key when pulling off a risky style. While maybe not my most favorite pant of all time, I feel like they would look even better with a crochet crop top or a great utility vest in the fall!
I have always had a love for TOMS, ever since the original design hit the market. Their mission is amazing (in case you didn't know, for every pair sold they give a child in need a new pair of shoes. Their motto is "One for One"). Lately they have branched out from the original design to more feminine styles like these clogs (and so 70's!) These are made from real lime tree wood and have the comfiest soles. Winner all around!
Please check out The Sweetest Stitch at the link above! Some of my other favorites are this tank and this gorgeous maxi. If you find something you like (and I am confident you will!), use my code STYLECOLLECTIVE for 10% OFF your total purchase!

Serendipity Boutique private shopping experience

This past Thursday, I was invited to a special preview event for Serendipity Boutique's grand opening of their new space in Johnson City, TN! I had my very own private shopping hour where I had the entire store to myself! SO fun and SO very dangerous to the wallet ;) !  Let's just say I took home a new summer wardrobe..complete with the cutest TOMS wedges. I made sure to document the entire experience so you guys could see this amazing space and their gorgeous clothes/accessories. Don't worry if you aren't local to the Northeast TN area- they have an online store as well!

The space itself is amazing! As soon as I walked in, I was so impressed. Their decor is very modern and clean, and the layout makes it easy to shop without feeling overwhelmed. The clothes were organized by color and style (dresses in one section, shorts in another, etc) and the accessories were displayed beautifully. I honestly believe layout is so important- too many racks and no true organization and I just don't feel like shopping! There was plenty of space and comfy seating- it would make such a great afternoon for a girls' shopping trip!

From graphic tees to gorgeous dresses, Serendipity has it all. Honestly, this is my new favorite boutique. No matter the occasion, you are SURE to find something here! I had so many clothes packed into my dressing room that I ran out of time to try them all on! Another plus- the clothes there are unique. Some boutiques have 'copycat' styles that are similar to one another- not this one! I saw pieces that I had never seen, so you are sure to stand out in a crowd.

My favorite part of the whole experience was how friendly and helpful the staff was the entire hour! The girls were so sweet! They would notice items I had in my hand and would help me out with outfit ideas or accessories. An honest opinion is much appreciated, and they were quick to offer any feedback should I ask! So, so impressed with these gals!

From casual to dressy- this place had everything! One point that the owner, Sarah Hull, made was that they try to keep items around a $50 price point. Certainly some items are above/below that amount, but Serendipity is a place where anyone can find something within their price range. From Umgee to Jude Connally- there is truly something for EVERYONE!

Their selection of dresses was endless! From beach-y to special occasion!

One of my favorite graphic tees they carry (and trust me, I had about 3 more that are now on my wish list!)

This tank was literally the softest tank I have ever worn. It came home with me, obvi.

Looking for work attire? These black pull-on stretch pants were to die for! AMAZING. That is all.

Charleston beach dress- yes, please!

Feeding my off the shoulder obsession :)

Looking for the perfect gift for that special gal in your life? (BFF, wife, sister, mom?) They have gift cards! Believe me- they will LOVE it!

A HUGE thank you to Sarah and the entire staff of Serendipity for such an amazing experience and for all the goodies (some of which I will review soon!) I am a huge advocate of 'shop local', and you can't go wrong with this boutique. It's so important to support local businesses, and I appreciate the same support as a new fashion blogger. Much love! <3 xo xo
